The Office of Continuing Education and a leading UK training company, Broadlands, are now working in partnership to provide a series of leadership and management programmes to support the development of leaders and managers in Qatar.
The Partnership has launched its first series of short courses, all of which will be run at the University Campus in Doha. The courses commence on 04 October 2009 and are aimed at management and supervisory staff at all levels across private and public sector organisations in Qatar. They have been specifically designed to deliver practical business benefits for the individual, their team and the organisation for which they work.
The Fall 2009 Programme marks just the start of what the Partners see as a unique contribution to the development of professional leaders in Qatar, by supporting the growth of the State’s human capital.
The short courses – ranging from two to four days in duration, are all accredited and provide access to qualifications through the UK Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM), an internationally recognised provider of professional qualifications.
John McGuire, Managing Director of Broadlands said: “We are delighted to be working with such a respected Institution as QatarUniversity. These courses will be invaluable in helping organisations to support their managers in a way that develops a range of skills and capabilities, while enabling people to remain in full time employment. Through the short courses, learners will access credits towards recognised qualifications, which will help them to advance their careers, and overall make them more effective in their management and leadership roles.”
Dr Taj Al-Sir Kardaman: Director of Continuing Education commented: “This is the first programme of open courses available to companies and public sector organisations in Qatar that address the ongoing professional development of supervisors, managers and leaders through an accredited scheme at so many levels. Our courses now cater for the development needs of all levels of management through a structured set of events, which will be repeated and extended as the programme grows in popularity. The ILM is a well respected UK and European Institution, and Broadlands will be working closely with the University in the delivery of these highly interactive short courses.”
